Datin Shelina Razaly Wahi graduated from the University of Bristol and is a Barrister of Lincoln's Inn,
England. She began her legal career as a litigation lawyer, has been in-house corporate counsel with
a large multinational O&G company, and has worked at a leading media, content & consumer service
provider, a start-up airline and an F&B start-up, before returning to corporate legal practice. Datin
Shelina has previously been the Legal Director of AirAsia X, and in Shell Malaysia, Datin Shelina led all
HR-related legal matters; and took direct responsibility for managing all major litigation matters. With
Astro Malaysia, she took a break from law and pioneered a 24-hour kids’ channel in Bahasa Malaysia.
Datin Shelina is currently the Secretary of the Malaysia Aerospace Industry Association, and assists
member companies in their dealings with Government agencies, banks and other industry stakeholders.
Datin Shelina is a Board Member of several listed entitles in Malaysia. She also authored the Malaysian
chapters on Aircraft Finance and Liens respectively (Sweet & Maxwell).
Datin Shelina’s practice focuses primarily on commercial aviation – including acquisitions, finance &
operating leases and sale & leaseback transactions; in addition to working with general aviation clients
– on acquisitions and disposals, financing and regulatory matters. Datin Shelina advises clients in the
manufacturing, services, MRO and design sectors of Aerospace – including in cross-border
transactions, contracts, compliance and regulatory matters. This includes reviewing and advising on
various contracts within the major OEM supply chains. On the Corporate and Commercial side, Datin
Shelina has advised Aerospace and Aviation clients on Joint Ventures, Mergers & Acquisitions and
Disposals, as well as on Structured Finance transactions.
Datin Shelina has also acted as transaction counsel in various transactions, both from a Corporate /
M&A perspective as well as from a pure banking / financing / structuring aspect, across several highlyregulated industries, involving financial institutions (Banks, Development Finance Institutions and
Insurance Companies) as well as in the Oil & Gas and Aviation sectors.
Datin Shelina Razaly Wahi is ranked as a Highly Regarded Leading Individual by IFLR 1000 in their
2024-2025 edition, with expertise in Banking & Finance, Corporate and M&A, Islamic Finance and
Restructuring: Corporate as well as Aviation; and has been recognised as a Distinguished Practitioner
in Aviation, by Asialaw 2024. Datin Shelina has also been shortlisted as the Malaysian finalist for the
Aviation and Shipping Lawyer of the Year in the Asialaw Awards in 2025. Datin Shelina was a finalist
for the Aviation Lawyer of the Year in the Women in Business Law Awards (APAC) 2022 and was
recognised in the Euromoney Expert Guides “Women in Business Law” 2021 and 2022 as a leading
practitioner for Aviation in Malaysia; in addition to her inclusion into the Euromoney Aviation Expert
Guide between 2018-2022.
